Choosing a finish for your hardwood floors

Posted on March 24, 2014 by John Crow in Refinishing No Comments

Refinishing hardwood floors in Santa Cruz begins with choosing a stain color and/or finish type.  Oil base (polyurethane) finish is the most commonly used in this area. Water base finish is the next  option.  Finally, other finishes such as wax, tung oil and hard wax oils are also used.

Once the finish has been chosen, Crow’s Quality Flooring will plan a sanding sequence for that particular hardwood and project.  We find the  sequence that will be best suited for the stain and/or finish choice.  Each project varies.

The hardwood finish choice and sanding sequence are key decisions for the best outcome of your finished project.
